Hi there! I’m Morgan, a young(ish) woman of many, many hats…
most notably being dog mom to Eddie, wife to Bysshe (since 2020), hospitality/service industry vet (over 21 years), former Charlestonian (SC, y’all), and recent resident of the Costa del Sol in beautiful Spain (aka España).
WELCOME TO MY BLOG!
A quick bit of background….
At the beginning of 2019 (Feb to be exact), I left my home in Charleston, SC to go on a much-needed vacation. My destination of choice – the US Virgin Islands – where I planned on relaxing while finding a job so I would have a reason to leave my home of 10 years. While I did not find a job on that exact trip, I did meet my future husband (no lie). Since our meeting, I flew back to Charleston, packed up my bags, grabbed my dog, and haven’t looked back since.
Since then, we have made our home in:
- St. Thomas, USVI
- Aberdeen, WA
- Sliema, Malta
- Sosua, Dominican Republic
- Malaga, Spain
Where we are now…
We moved to Torrox Costa, which is in the province of Malaga (and on the coast) in April, 2022. We chose to leave the DR after almost two years so that we could be closer to my father-in-law. Since we’ve returned, we have not regretted our decision, not one bit.
With COVID “dissipating” and being back in the EU, my husband has finally found work (he’s a chef), thus allowing me to quit some online jobs I hated and to focus on finding one I do love, while also working on this blog (which I have been planning for 3 years, but you know, life happens).
The purpose of this blog…
So, I FINALLY have started this blog so that it can serve as a resource for anyone that wants to learn real-life insight from my OWN personal experiences from traveling these past few years.
I am here to share EVERYTHING I know related to moving/living abroad, including HOW to travel with pets, WHAT exactly overstay fees + visas are, the BEST ways to cope with loss + grief while living abroad, newlywed life, and even WHERE to find your perfect remote job!
